Thermo Hemp, made by Ecological Building Systems, is a mat and roll form of insulation made from 100 percent hemp. It is pollutant-free, has a high thermal resistance, and good acoustic dampening properties. It is completely safe to install and manufacture, offers outstanding fire protection, and contains no chemical additives.
Coming in mats or rolls, it can be used for a wide variety of insulation applications and can be installed in roofs, walls, and floors.
As hemp grows, it helps to restrict environmental pollution because it decomposes CO2. Uniquely, it also improves the ground soil as it leaves the ground loose and totally weed free. Because hemp matures to a height of 4m within 100-120 days, weeds have no chance to grow so no herbicides or pesticides are necessary during cultivation.

We’re investigating the possibility of building a geopolymer thin shell dome using these mats as insulation. The plan is to dip the mats in thin geopolymer cement or magnesium cement and attaching them to basalt rebar. After drying the mats would be plastered with the same material, only thicker.

I can only find a suppliers outside the US. Does anyone know where it can be purchased in the US?
This is the company I’ve contacted. Not sure if they can get it. But if several people want to buy it then maybe they’ll start carrying it.
